The Hingham Land Conservation Trust (HLCT) has announced that its 2020 Annual Meeting on September 23rd at 7 pm will now be held online via ZOOM, as the ongoing public health emergency restrictions make it impossible to hold meetings at the Hingham Public Library. (The date and time are unchanged from what was announced in the HLCT April mailing.) The HLCT has sent an email invitation to those whose email address is in the HLCT database, but you also can request an invitation by sending an email request to: AnnualMeeting@hinghamlandtrust.org.

After a brief business meeting, and the election of our board slate for 2020, our vice chair Art Collins will introduce our guest speaker: Sean Kent – the Education and Summer Camp Director for Mass Audubon’s Museum of American Bird Art in Canton. Sean also teaches and is involved in field biology and pollinator ecology. Sean’s topic for the evening is: “The Buzz About Pollinators and How to Attract Them”

After Sean’s presentation, Art will bring everyone up to date on the HLCT’s 2020 Native Wildflower Initiative and its inaugural project, a collaborative effort underway since early spring at Bare Cove Park. Much has been accomplished since the HLCT announced the Triangle Garden Demonstration Pollinator Garden project in April, and if you walk at Bare Cove Park you may have seen some of the results.

The Land Trust expects to have some time for questions from the online audience before concluding the Zoom meeting at about 8:30 pm.
