Hingham Land Conservation Trust invites you to join us on an informative guided mushroom walk at Wompatuck State Park, 204 Union Street, Hingham, on Saturday, October 3 at 10 AM. We will meet at the Visitors Center parking lot.
Leading us will be mycology instructor and naturalist Jef Taylor. Jef is currently the mycology instructor for the Mass Audubon Field Naturalist Certificate Program, and carries a wild mushroom food safety certification with the state of New Hampshire. A seasoned group leader, Jef has organized and led nature walks in the area for more than two decades for the Trustees of Reservations, Mass Audubon, the Dedham Conservation Commission, and for many other private groups. The walk will be between one and two miles in length. We will be searching for mushrooms on uneven terrain; sturdy shoes, long pants, and bug spray are recommended. We hope you can join us to learn more about the fungus among us.
